Music composer and curator Tapas Relia is scouting for new and original music to showcase at Abhivyakti: The City Arts Project.

Edition 8 of the Abhivyakti festival is slated for November 2026 in Ahmedabad.

Relia, who curates the festival’s music segment, is keen on finding fresh compositions, experimental sounds, and artists pushing beyond mainstream genres.

He has put out a call on Instagram offering backend support and stage exposure for new work and work in progress.

Covers and film music are discouraged. The focus is on independent work across traditions.

In 2025, musicians participating in the festival came from many states, including Assam, Kerala, Rajasthan, MP, and UP.

Abhivyakti’s music platform is run by Torrent Group’s UNM Foundation,

Abhivyakti is a free, 15-day festival held across Gujarat University Campus, ATIRA and Shreyas Foundation.

Edition 7 drew 4.5 lakh visitors and hosted about 220 shows across five art forms.
